ASHLEY'S PONDERINGS

    Ashley’s Ponderings consists of things I’ve written over the years, beginning when I first started to take writing seriously.  Consequently, my earlier selections were put together in a somewhat simplistic, childlike and naive form (I’m still working on that!).  

    My communication skills were very much in the rough at fourteen and fifteen years old.  Starting out at thirteen with a weekly commentary on the corresponding Torah portion, I attempted not to teach others through what I wrote, but to teach myself, to solidify my own religious beliefs and be willing to defend them.  

    These writings, both old and recent, are not meant for adults; it is not my position to teach a superior to me in years and wisdom.  However, the intended target group is young people mostly in their teens, who I hope will find some of this information an attractive alternative to what the authors of the pop culture offer.  

    My prayer is that the glorifying of HaShem be foremost in these short articles, and that His Word will not return to Him void.  It is easy to write apologetics, theological essays, doctrine, etc.  Living it out is what counts.  Our faith should be worth dying and living for.  I hope that I am not some wild, mystical, lofty idealist whose opinions are shelved with the myriads of other “religious” writers, but that my words are able to go straight to the heart.  The heart, and the actions born from it, are what counts in life.  The rest is commentary… pun intended.
