COOKIES IN A JAR
Oatmeal Surprise

Here is a nice gift to make and share...

Makes 2.5 dozen cookies

Ingredients to place in a jar to be capped and decorated:

1 cup Sucanat
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1-1/4 cup freshly rolled oats
1 cup freshly-ground pastry wheat (soft white)
1/4 tsp. baking SODA
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup dried dates
1/4 cup organic chocolate chips (non-white sugar)
2 Tbls. organic coconut
1/4 cup raisins

These final instructions are to be added to a gift card. Attached card to the jar.

You will need:

3/4 cup organic butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

How to:

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

1. Place butter, egg and vanilla in bowl and mix until well blended.
2. Add ingredients from jar; mix well.
3. If dough is too thick or dry, add small amount of milk until proper consistency.
4. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet.
5. Bake until golden brown - approximately 12 - 14 minutes.
6. Cool on wire racks.
7. Store in refrigerator or freezer in airtight container.
