GREEN SMOOTHIES

Here are some "yummy" green smoothies that came to me from Kitchen2NewsNet folks like Carol Barbour in NC and Beth Cloud in TN.  You will need a blender or food processor to make these.  Kathie @ www.kitchen2.com

I've been making a green smoothie lately too. Here is what I use and it really taste great-just get past the color. Love it for breakfast! Carol in NC

ONE KALE OF A SMOOTHIE

2 or 3 Kale leaves with spine removed
2 bananas
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
Tablespoon of ground flaxseeds
Tablespoon of lecithin granules
about 6-8 oz water
(and sometimes a pear)

You can leave out or substitute anything you don't like, because taste it first.  You'll be surprised that you really can't taste the greens.  Also, if you just can't drink something green, blueberries will turn it blue.  Strawberries will turn it brown, so don't think you did something wrong.  Just ignore the color.  Beth in TN

SPINACH, BERRY, BANANA, CARROT & MORE SMOOTHIE

This is for 2 quarts, and all ingredients are raw and whenever possible organic.

These are best cold, so we add ice if not cold enough.

2 cups packed spinach (1/2 bag)
2 large bananas
1 whole carrot (yes, the top too)
2 cups strawberries (if frozen add after all other ingredients are blended)  We like frozed mixed fruit, too.  [Strawberries should be organic]
3 Tbsp. hemp nuts
1 big squirt flax oil (I know, a squirt is not a measurement)
1 Tbls honey or sweetened to taste with Stevia
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups water

SPINACH, KALE, CARROT, DATES & FRUIT SMOOTHIE

This one has more ingredients to make it even healthier.

2 packed cups spinach
1 small handful kale
1 whole carrot (yes the top, too)
add 3-4 sprigs parsley and a large romaine leaf, optional
small handful dulse - a sea vegetable
1 slice coconut
1 whole apple
2-3 bananas (only 2 if you use a lot of other fruit)
1to 3 tsp honey or Stevia
5-6 small dates
1 Tsp vanilla - optional
2 cups water
1-2 cups fruit (blend last, if frozen)
