DO YOU HAVE AN AVERSION TO CHANGE?

Part NineIf You Only Had a Month...

For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous in His sight; and from beginning to end it is through trust - as the Tanakh [Hebrew Scriptures] puts it, "But the person who is righteous will live his life by trust."  What is revealed is God's anger from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people who in their wickedness keep suppressing the truth; because what is known about God is plain to them, since God has made it plain to them.

Forever since the creation of the universe His invisible qualities - both His eternal power and His divine nature - have been clearly seen, because they can be understood from what He has made. Therefore, they have no excuse; because, although they know who God is, they do not glorify Him as God or thank Him. On the contrary, they have become futile in their thinking; and their undiscerning hearts have become darkened. Claiming to be wise, they have become fools!  In fact, they have exchanged the glory of the immortal God for mere images, like a mortal human being, or like birds, animals or reptiles!

This is why God has given them up to the vileness of their hearts' lusts, to the shameful misuse of each other's bodies. They have exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, by worshipping and serving created things, rather than the Creator - praised be He forever. Amen.

This is why God has given them up to degrading passions; so that their women exchange natural sexual relations for unnatural; and likewise the men, giving up natural relations with the opposite sex, burn with passion for one another, men committing shameful acts with other men and receiving in their own persons the penalty appropriate to their perversion.

In other words, since they have not considered God worth knowing, God has given them up to worthless ways of thinking; so that they do improper things.   They are filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and vice; stuffed with jealousy, murder, quarrelling, dishonesty and ill-will; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God; they are insolent, arrogant and boastful; they plan evil schemes; they disobey their parents; they are brainless, faithless, heartless and ruthless.  They know well enough God's righteous decree that people who do such things deserve to die; yet not only do they keep doing them, but they applaud others who do the same. (Romans 1:17-32)

                                                                                ********

It is 3:41 in the morning and I am wide-awake.  I cannot sleep because I keep thinking about the terrible troubles that are happening in the world and most especially in our own country.  The hour is late.  The times Yeshua/Jesus told us about are upon us.  He warned us that these things would happen, the time of Jacob’s trouble, but most people do not have ears to hear or eyes to see.  They are dull of understanding.  They lack wisdom.  They and their families are not prepared—mentally, physically or spiritually.  Some might even think they are, but let me give you some real food for thought.

Many people are going on as it states above and as it was in the days of Noah and Lot .  They plan each day just like all the others—eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, shopping at the malls, sending their children off to schools or colleges, buying a house or a car.  Little thought is given to what lies ahead for them or their families.  It is just life in the fast lane.

However, if one can just stop their merry-go-round life for a minute and consider this one thing, they might see more clearly.  What would you do with your family if you only had one month left before all Hell on earth broke out?  Would you change your life or would you go on as you have been doing?  Seriously, think about it.  I have been doing this and cannot sleep…  No, this is not a case of fear or anxiety.  I can assure you that there will be a time for that, but this is not the case.

There is a heart-felt feeling of doom and destruction that is about to take place.  I can almost touch it.  The evil in the world is coming up out of the earth.  Too many portals have been opened and we cannot see the results of this.  Nevertheless, it is there.

In considering what is happening stateside and worldwide, I have prepared a few questions and ideas to help you discover where you stand, should you only have one month:

·        Are you still in the church?  Reason: Many churches are not teaching the Bible, but have turned to “famous” authors, teachers, and strange theology.  Many people are just there to socialize.

·        If so, are you being fed truth from the Bible or are you being socialized or mesmerized?  Think this one through.  “Am I there to see my friends or to meet with the Lord and learn truth about His Word?”

·        Is the church or congregation you are attending using material that is emphasizing mystical or eastern meditative teachings?  Does it teach from the Word or someone else’s commentary or book?

·        Can what your leaders teach you be found in the Word of God?  Have you looked to see?

·        Are you a Berean who studies out “all” of the Scripture, Genesis to Revelation?  On the other hand, are you still clinging to the New Testament only and/or adding a bit of “Old Testament” here and there?

·        Considering what most churches teach today, have you left dispensationalism or replacement theology.  Are you able to warn others about this false teaching that is anti-Semitic and unscriptural?

·        Are you keeping the commandments—all 10 of them, including No. 4, which is the 7th day Sabbath?  Please read this one to see just how important it is.  Most people do not even realize that there was a stiffer penalty for breaking the Sabbath than Yom Kippur, the Holiest Day of the year.  The penalty for breaking Yom Kippur was excommunication and/or expulsion.  The penalty for violation of Sabbath was death.  It is the sign of our everlasting (forever) blood covenant with God, instituted with us through Yeshua.

·        Do you call the 7th day Sabbath a delight and rejoice that the Father gave us this day to physically rest in Him?  Isaiah 58:13 states the following:  "If you hold back your foot on Shabbat from pursuing your own interests on my holy day; if you call Shabbat a delight, ADONAI's holy day, worth honoring; then honor it by not doing your usual things or pursuing your interests or speaking about them.”

·        Do you keep the Holy Days and Feasts of the Lord--the Moedim? These are the special appointed times He established to meet with His people, e.g. Passover, Shavuot, Yom Kippur and Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot).

·        Do you take time to speak with the Lord in prayer and confession of sin--repentance?

·        Do you obey the Biblical kosher laws that Yeshua and His disciples obeyed?  Yes, and they did until the day they died.

·        Do you dress modestly so as not to defraud our brothers?  Defrauding comes with serious punishment.  (See Aversion to Change #6)

·        Do you teach your children from the Scriptures or are you using your own opinions and teachings?  Do they tell you what they want to hear, think, say and do?

·        Do we as mothers and/or wives hear the Ruach HaKodesh—the Holy Spirit--speaking and can we differentiate between His voice and another?  The Lord tells us in His Word that His sheep hear His voice.  (See John 10)

·        Do you have a safe location where you can go in an emergency—far from large cities?

·        Do you have supplies to feed your family and others for several months?  Or, longer?

·        Have you considered your emotional state of mind with reference to the troubles and tribulation the Lord said would occur?

·        In spite of all this, are you and your family continuing to share the whole Gospel with others, even if they act as if they do not want to hear?  Remember, that is our commission.  This is also a commandment that He never “deleted.”

Why am I so direct and emphatic?  Remember that according to my stated

Scenario, you only have one month left. We must get this right the first time, as there may not be another occasion for correction.  Our course is mapped out for us.  If we go against the Holy Spirit’s directions, we just might end up somewhere we do not want to be.  Also, remember to follow His GPS (God’s Priority System) and you will not be anxious or afraid.

Therefore, let us take each area of preparation one at a time and list the ideas that come to mind:

Let us begin with LOCATION.  This might sound a little strange, but there are some very good reasons for knowing your location and whether or not you put yourself there or the Lord did.  Some people have told me, “Well, we live in the big city, but this is where the Lord wants us to be.”  And, I would say to that, “Wonderful!  Then He has a special plan for you to minister during these times of incredible trouble.”  I know of several people who live in major cities and have unbelievable ministries to help the poor, alcoholics, prostitutes, etc.  It could be you and your family will minister, die there or possibly escape.  However, if you do not have a ministry, do not see one in sight, or do not desire to serve in this capacity, you might be seriously in the wrong location.

I can remember about 25 years ago that a well-known radio commentator kept telling people to get out of the big cities, even medium-sized ones, and find a location at least two hours away from all cities of these types.  I know several people were laughing at him or making excuses, but some were heeding his warning.  Many people our family knows headed for the mountains to set up small farms and get prepared.  It was not long after that when the Lord began showing us a “way out.”  At the time, we lived in Miami , Florida .

Just imagine what it would be like in a city where there is no food, possibly no water, violent gangs, people who are just “losing it,” no phones or Internet service, sickness, death, and total chaos.  Now, imagine you live in the middle of this.  What would you do to protect yourself and your family?  Yes, the Lord can protect His people, but think about this—are you obeying the Lord in all areas of your life?  Did He warn you ahead of time and you did not heed that warning?  Please remember this, if you refuse to obey Him, He does not have to protect you.  If we live on the edge of sin, things we know we would not do should Yeshua/Jesus be present, how can we expect He will be there when we need Him the most?  Think hard.  This is not a test—it is reality!  Remember, these words mean nothing to the Lord:  “It doesn’t mean that to me. ” Or, “I haven’t been convicted of that yet.”

Didn’t the Father say to us these words in Hosea 4:6?  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be not be a priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law [Torah] of your God, I will also forget your children.

On the other hand, how about this statement in Matthew 7:21.  Not every one that says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father, which is in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name have cast out devils? and in Your name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.

If we say we love Him, we must keep His commandments.  (John 14:15; John 15:10)  If we do not keep His commandments and do as we please, doing our own desires instead of His, fooling ourselves, then we cannot depend on Him to be there in the day of trouble.  We can memorize Psalm 91 all we want, but if we do not obey, there is no obligation on His part to perform any miracles on our part.  It is sort of a “If you do this; I will do that” situation.  (See Deuteronomy 28)  We cannot consider the Most Holy One of Israel as a Santie Claus, that “man” up stairs, or He is a God of “love.”  Yes, He is a God of love, but He is also a just God and a very jealous One. We had better learn to fear Him and realize just Who He is before things get much worse.

It is our part to understand through the Spirit that which we are being taught—whether it is truth or error.  Test yourself.  Do you listen to a teacher and then run to the Scriptures and prove what you just heard or read?  Be honest.  Should we listen to the “church,” teachers who like their ears tickled, authors, TV evangelists, Internet Bible teachers, etc, etc, etc. and consider their words as “Gospel truth.”  Moreover, we are not to be like parrots, repeating what we heard as though it was fact.  When it comes to the Word, we have to search it thoroughly.

Therefore, I have said all that to say this—if God did not place you where you are living and show you to stay put until further notice, you had better go to Him in prayer and possibly fasting, to discern where you should be located for the soon approaching “hell on earth.”  You have a month…maybe.

Next, we should consider PROVISIONS.  Ah, I can hear someone saying that God will provide.  Yes, this is true.  He can and possibly will.  However, He also instructs us to watch the ant.  They gather in the harvest for the winter or in good times for the hard times.   The Lord was attempting to teach us something here in Proverbs 6:6-8 - Go to the ant, you lazybones! Consider its ways, and be wise.  It has no chief, overseer or ruler; yet it provides its food in summer and gathers its supplies at harvest-time.

I am sure many of you have never been through a serious earthquake, hurricane, tornado, tsunami, blizzard, ice storm, wild fire, etc.  Our family has been through many hurricanes, including Andrew, the blizzard of ’93 and a severe ice storm.  All of these situations closed down our city.  While in Homestead , Florida during Hurricane Andrew, we saw terrible devastation.  Everything in our area was basically wiped off the map:  houses, trees, bushes, poles, massive electric feeder lines twisted like pretzels, shopping centers blown away, etc.  In North Carolina , the blizzard and ice storm shut us down for around 10 days, with no water, food, electricity, and so on.  During the blizzard and hurricane, we did not have a generator.  However, we learned quickly.  After discovering that those moving on the roads and highways were using 4-wheel drive trucks, we bought one of those also.

We must have water, food, shelter, a source of heat in winter, proper clothing/shoes for the climate/terrain and common sense to survive basic environmental situations like those mentioned above.  In an emergency, if we are missing any of these, we could be in for some rough times, especially if we have children.

So, what can you do?  Well, if you are in the “right” location, you can begin, as quickly as possible, to obtain these items.  There are many places on the Internet, which give good advice as to what you need to survive—just do a search for a “survival list.”

You should also have what some are calling a “bug out bag.”  This is a large backpack filled with basic essentials in case one has to get up and go—suddenly.  Each person in your home should have one of these.  They even make them for little children.  By the way, when making preparations do not forget the needs of your pet(s).  Other things to be sure to take are legal documents, jewelry, cash, a weapon for protection or for obtaining food, first-aid items, etc.

How about the needs of CHILDREN?   Children and babies are going to need special items: foods, diapers.  In the winter, they will need extra clothing like socks, mittens or gloves, ear and head protection and so on.  You might consider what you should also carry in your first-aid kit and decide what a child or baby might need in the event of an emergency.

If one is pregnant or nursing, this must be considered.  Live your life, if just in your mind, in a position where you have nothing except what is either in your home or in your backpack.   Realize that you might not have access to anything else, including stores.  This would also include the assistance of a doctor, dentist and any other health practitioner.  There are books that cover this.  You can find many of them listed on my website at www.kitchen2.com.   A couple of good books are Where There Is No Doctor and Where There Is No Dentist.  You might be able to purchase these used.

I have learned many things from watching and reading untold numbers of films, documentaries and books on the Holocaust.  This is seriously important.  Parents, train your children from the time they are able to understand the word “no” to be still and quiet.  This is easy to do.  Do not let anyone tell you differently.  Most children who are fidgety, uncontrolled or have a problem keeping quiet, generally have a parent problem.  It is not the child.  Sorry, parents.  I know this as I have raised six children and when Mama or Papa said, “sit still” or “be quiet,” they were.  My last child learned this by the age of almost two.  There must be an authority figure(s) in the home and the children must obey that person(s) and promptly.  I have found that many times a parent gives a command and then walks away.  The child realizes the parent is not going to do anything, so they act up again until the parent loses their cool.  The parent yells again and does not watch to see if the child follows through with the command a second or third time.  What do we have here?  A child running the show.  The child is the authority.

Have you ever been in a store and heard a child screaming, hitting their parents, running down the aisles, throwing things, demanding candy and cookies?  Our family has seen this on more than one occasion.  It is shameful, not just for the child, but mostly for the parent(s).  These permissive parents will be dealing with this child as a teen soon enough and then society will have to deal with the outcome.  Remember what the Bible has to say about children in the end times: children will disobey their parents—Romans 1:30.  Also, please remember that some children act up because they are being ignored.  If your child needs love, affection or attention, give them what they need.  Nothing we do outside of an emergency is more important than our children are.

Another thing to consider when raising children is their environment.  Are they government-school educated, and I use this term loosely.  Government schools are not there to educate.  They are there to socialize and teach an agenda.  If you are allowing the government or others to do your God-given and commanded job according to the Scriptures, you will reap what you have sown.  I can say this from experience.  I tried government schools, private schools and Christian schools.  The results were the same—a lack of education, discipline and moral standards.  Because my husband and I were not there in the beginning with our first three children, which the Bible commands us to be the educators, it was not long before they had allegiances to their teachers and peers instead of our family.  We have found that homeschooling and teaching/living the principles of Torah create a true family atmosphere.  By the way, homeschooling is not difficult.  You are basically educating your children everyday.  Just add some paper, pencils, good books and lots of love.

Another good point is your child’s diet.  If we feed our family processed foods and allow junk food as a steady diet, children will react to this in many ways including hyperactivity, sickness, irritability, bad teeth, inability to concentrate, and so on.  This will also affect us to the point that we do not feel like taking care of our homes and families.

I remember reading so many stories about uncontrollable, loud and obnoxious children living in hiding places during the Holocaust.  These children many times were the cause of their families being turned over to the authorities, imprisoned and murdered.  What can I say about this but, “Parents, heed this warning.”  Do not feel sorry for your children.  If they need a spanking, give them one.  If they need correction, do it and watch to be sure they do what you instructed.  Do not allow them to talk back, sass or show disrespect to you as their authority.  Well, that is unless you do not care about them in the first place.  If they need love, attention or affection, give it to them.  Sometimes children act up because they are in need of positive attention.  Nevertheless, remember, love is not pampering and spoiling.  Love is discipline.  Discipline brings security. That is how the Lord trains us.  Keep in mind their safety and yours when considering how you should “train up your child.”

How is your MENTAL and EMOTIONAL stability?  Those words might seem strange right now.  Yet, I have found some women who are very frightened and worried.  Many times this is because they are trying to “go it alone.”  I understand, especially if their husband has no idea of what is happening around him.

I had a wonderful friend in Homestead named Evie.  She was really a precious friend.  She was mentally and spiritually strong as an ox.  She gave me so much prophetic information 30+ years ago that is happening right now before my eyes.  She was not a worrier.  She was the strength and backbone of her family.  However, she had an unbelieving husband.  He was physically strong, mentally stable, but did not know the Lord.  When Hurricane Andrew hit our area in Homestead , he fell apart.  He was confused, worried and frozen with fear.  I remember her telling me that they stayed in their home in the closet.  As they heard the roof blowing off, the dishes flying out of the cabinets, the furniture being thrown all over from room to room, he would become more frightened.  What did my dear Evie do?  She gave the gospel to her husband the entire night.  At the end of the storm, she looked at him and said, “Now, do you believe in the Lord?”  You can bet he said yes.  My friend has passed on, but everything she taught me is still with me—strength of mind, emotion and character.  Evie, the strong ox, was only 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 85 lbs.

If we know the Lord Yeshua personally and are obeying His Word, we have no reason to fear.  He has stated that “love casts out fear,” “fear not,” “be not afraid,” “be anxious for nothing,” and so on.  If we are afraid, we are just plain not trusting.  Check out this verse:  Proverbs 10:24 What a fool dreads will overtake him, but the righteous will be given his desire.

Many years ago, probably close to 25, the Lord gave this verse to me.  I can remember the situation clearly.  In addition, I remember how I was shown to use the verse.  When one fears, they are lacking in faith.  If we are the one lacking in this faith, we can quickly confess this as sin.  The Lord hears our humble confessions.  He will change the situation and bring glory to His name.

So, do you remember Job?  One of the main things I remember is that he always feared for his children.  That is why he sacrificed animals for them because of their many grievous sins.  Do you remember what Job stated after his children died?  Job 3:24 …for the thing I feared has overwhelmed me, what I dreaded has happened to me.  He knew they were disobedient.  This should be a warning to us.

Should we be like Job, sitting around waiting for doom to come upon us?  Not on your life.  Why should we be fools?  The rest of the verse says, “…but the righteous will be given his desire.”  Are we not righteous through the blood of Yeshua, through faith in the sacrifice of His body for us because of our sins?  If this is true, then we can change our fear into a desire and offer it back to the Lord instead of the fear that was controlling us.  Remember, He promises to give us the desires of our heart.  However, they must align with His will.  Therefore, we can change the fear through confession of the sin of fear to a desire that would be pleasing to the Father.

Here is an example:  I am fearful that my 18-year-old son might be in an automobile accident traveling a long distance to another state.  This fear could paralyze me or at least control my mental faculties.  However, I can confess this as sin and turn the entire picture around through a proper desire.  I always remember to tell the Father why I am righteous, as stated above, and then I request the desire of my heart.  In this case, my desire would be that my son would arrive at his destination safely and be able to serve those he is visiting.

As things “heat up” in the world with relation to Israel and our country and prophecies seem to fly off the pages of the Bible, there will be much fear, panic and chaos.  It will actually be a time of paralyzing fear.  We will see and hear things we have never known before.  Yet, we can make it through this with our stand in the Lord and his Word.  By the way, do you have any of it memorized?

If you are already experiencing fear, dread, anxiety, or worry, ask your husband to pray for or with you.  If he is not available for whatever reason, consider confiding in a friend who is able to pray with you and walk you through truth to mental and emotional freedom.  Remember that Yeshua told us He would never leave us or forsake us.  He was not kidding.  He meant what He said.  He is always there.  We are the ones who usually walk away.

Have you stopped to think about the new HEALTHCARE laws?  This situation is truly scary—talk about having a reason to be fearful.  From everything I have read, which definitely is not all of the thousands of pages in that bill, we will soon be under their direction and decisions for our health, whether or not we like it.  Anyone refusing to use their plan will be fined exorbitant fees.  There is a system in place where everyone will have to be “chipped” (marked) in order to use this new health care program.   Anyone over 60 will have to go through a panel of “health” judges to decide whether the person should be allowed to live or die.  It is being touted by many as a “death panel.”   If you and your family do not plan to receive the chip and use their services, it would be a wise idea to begin learning alternative health care right away.   If you have an existing illness, be diligent in discovering whether it is a sickness due to physically, spiritual or mental (attitudinal) problems.  Please see my message on www.kitchen2.com called “Torah and Heath.”  If time truly is very short and you don’t want to take the chip, you might not be able to obtain healthcare or medications.  This is something to consider.

What is our CALLING?  This should be easy for those who are Believers and obedient to the Lord’s commands.  As the Lord’s children, each of us has been given a calling and many commandments to follow for our own good and the good of others.  Our main goal in life is to get the Word out—the true Gospel.  Yes, that is the “real” Gospel, repent from our sins and turn to the Lord Yeshua/Jesus for our salvation, trusting in His blood and not our good deeds.

Many people are telling me that folks are no longer listening to sound judgment or wisdom.  It is as if they do not want to hear.  However, that is their problem.  If we tell them the truth, these folks will be without excuse.  That is the point.   Our job is to tell.  Another thing to consider is “don’t allow fear to keep you from telling.”  The outcome of your message is left in the hands of the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKodesh, and the person receiving the information.  Let us not hide our light under a bushel.

Well, I have given you some thing to chew on.  Remember, your family is a team.  Work on your projects as one.  This will save a lot of frustration and one person holding down all the jobs.  I know things are changing rapidly and whether or not there is only one month left is anyone’s guess, but it does pay to stay alert, prepared and close the Father.  Also, remember who is in charge.  God gave us a system of authority for our homes.  Be sure you can mentally and emotionally work with this system in tough times.  This will be a solid test of your faith.

Proverbs 10:25 states:  When the storm has passed, the wicked are gone; but the righteous are firmly established forever.

Chazak! Chazak! (Be strong! Be strong!)
