MOSES' TEN WORDS

The Covenant of Moshe/Moses
We are called
out - A holy and redeemed people
HAVE
YOU BEEN DECEIVED?
Lately, everywhere you look there is a 10 Commandments sign posted on
someone’s yard. But, have you ever
stopped to consider these signs and what they really imply?
Ninety
percent of the people posting these signs have wrong or misconceived ideas of
what these ten laws – or instructions – really mean.
We have been taught to view them from a Greco-Roman, Western mentality
rather than the originally Hebrew setting they were given in.
We
have been taught from a tailored and highly misinterpreted set of “Scriptures,
” which are the basis and fundamentals of our faith.
Often the words of God are taken out of context and misquoted.
And, to add to the problem, we have become lazy and don’t take the time
to study and think about what He is really trying to say to us.
Many
who go to church on Sunday or synagogue on Saturday, accept what is
preached, and don’t question or discern whether or not what they heard was
truth or error. We do it
without thought, religiously.
What
if the Scriptures actually came alive and were made exciting – like they were
meant to be? What if we suddenly
opened up to a deeper understanding so simple yet so incredible that we would
want to follow the Bible for the rest of our lives and regret all of the time
we’ve wasted not doing so? Moreover,
what if we find out that we’ve been deceived?
There
is only one approach that is true. That
is the way God intended from the beginning. In this time, God is opening the
minds and hearts of people who want a faith that is passionate, a life that is
worth living, and a God they can trust and understand, who wants a real
relationship with them.
The
Ten Commandments were given to such a people, so that we could have that
necessary relationship. These
commandments will help us have this relationship, when we understand them in
their proper, Biblical interpretation. Consider
what God is doing right now, as it was written in the Scriptures for our time:
Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and
my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come
unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have
inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
If our fathers who have inherited lies passed these lies down to us, they
may have done it in complete innocence and ignorance of the fact.
Now is the time for us to awaken to the truth.
When
was the last time you opened up your Bible and read the 10 Commandments?
Did you actually begin with the first commandment at Exodus 20:2?
Here are the true “10 Words” or 10 Commandments that were given to
Moshe/Moses at Mt. Sinai. See if
these commandments sound like the ones you know, have seen or read in books.
The 10 WORDS
A
Loving Father’s Instructions
1 Then God said all these
words:
2
"I am ADONAI [the Lord] your God, who brought you out of the land of
Egypt, out of the abode of slavery.
3
"You are to have no other gods before me.
4
You are not to make for yourselves a carved image or any kind of
representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water
below the shoreline.
5
You are not to bow down to them or serve them; for I, ADONAI your God, am
a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third
and fourth generation of those who hate me,
6
but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me
and obey my mitzvot [Commandments/Instructions].
7
"You are not to use lightly the name of ADONAI your God, because
ADONAI will not leave unpunished someone who uses his name lightly.
8
"Remember the day, Shabbat [Sabbath], to set it apart for God.
9
You have six days to labor and do all your work,
10
but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God. On it, you are not
to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or
female slave, not your livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside
the gates to your property.
11
For in six days, ADONAI made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in
them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why ADONAI blessed the day,
Shabbat, and separated it for Himself.
12
"Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land
which ADONAI your God is giving you.
13
"Do not murder.
(14) "Do not commit
adultery.
(15) "Do not steal.
(16) "Do not give
false evidence against your neighbor.
14
(17) "Do not covet your neighbor's house; do not covet your
neighbor's wife, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that
belongs to your neighbor."
Exodus 20:1-17 (Complete
Jewish Bible) [If you prefer, you can
also check these with the KJV.]
Here
is a shortened form of the “10 Words”
1.
I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of
the abode of slavery. [Most people skip this one altogether.]
2.
You are to have no other gods before Me. You are not to make for
yourselves a carved image...
3.
You are not to use lightly the name of Adonai your God...
4.
Remember the day, Shabbat (Sabbath) to set it apart for God.
You have six days to labor and do all your work, but the seventh day
is a Shabbat for Adonai your God...
5. Honor your
father and your mother...
6. Do not murder.
[It
doesn’t say “Do not kill.”]
7. Do not commit
adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do
not give false evidence against your neighbor.
10.
Do not covet your neighbor’s house; ...your neighbor’s wife, his male
or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
Do these still sound different than the ones you know, have read in books
or seen posted? It is amazing how
many of us have never really seen or thought through the 10 Commandments.
We just take for granted that what we are being told or seeing on a
poster or wall is truth. Not a very
good idea...
ADONAI’s
Commandments Are
Some people have misunderstood that--
(1)
the Torah or five books of Moses have been abolished and
(2) that the commandments are
laws, as in the sense of
government rulings.
Neither of these is true.
Adonai’s commandments are actually loving instructions for His people. There are 613 of them, not just 10. These 613 instructions are not for everyone. Some are for farmers, temple priests, women or men, etc. They are to teach us how to love, obey and cling to Adonai. They are also to help us learn to care for and respect one another. These Instructions are eternal. Obeying them will not give us salvation, but they should be obeyed out of gratitude for what He has done for us. They are loving instructions from a loving Creator. (Matt. 11:30)
Joshua 1:8 Yes,
keep this book of the Torah on your lips, and meditate on it day and night, so
that you will take care to act according to everything written in it. Then your
undertakings will prosper, and you will succeed.
Jer. 31:32 For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days," says ADONAI: "I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Mat 5:17-19
Think
not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to
destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass,
one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach
men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever
shall do and teach them,
the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
The
first congregation was called out at Mt. Sinai
when Moses was given the 10 Words
(Commandments or Instructions)
ADONAI Is Betrothed to His People
Hosea 2:19-20 I
will betroth you to me forever; yes, I will
betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in grace and in compassion; I
will betroth you to me in faithfulness, and you will know ADONAI.
How long is forever?
When
Adonai freed His people* from the hand of Pharaoh, He brought
them through the wilderness and betrothed them at Mt. Sinai. This was the very
first congregation. They
would learn of the love Adonai had for them. It was shown
through the Covenant Moshe received of the 10 Words or 10 Commandments. These
were written on two tablets of stone as a Ketubah or Betrothal Covenant.
This Covenant was made between a greater party and a lesser party,
Adonai, the Greater Party and His people, the lesser party.
This covenant was binding forever! Adonai
does not break his covenants, erase them, or change them.
The
God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant.
He does not change!
*
Exodus 12:38 A mixed
crowd also went up with them, as well as livestock in large numbers,
both flocks and herds.
(See also:
Numbers 11:4) Yes, there were Gentiles among the Hebrews!
His “complete” Word stands forever.
We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God!
He is the ONLY God! The God
of Israel! We will continue to give you a short overview of each of these
commandments or instructions. We
hope you find them of interest enough for you to do your own study.

#1
- I AM Adonai your God,
who brought
Who
is the True God?
Today, many do not follow the One True God.
How do we know this? Because
they do not follow the complete Bible, stating that the Old
Covenant/Torah has been done away with. They
do not keep the Commandments (Instructions) of their loving
Creator. Yeshua stated that He did
not come to abolish the Torah, but He came to fulfill it.
Yes indeed! I tell you
that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke [jot or
tittle] will pass from the Torah - not until everything
that must happen has happened.
(Matt 5:18)
Exodus 29:46 They
will know that I am ADONAI their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt
in order to live with them. I am ADONAI their God.
Leviticus 11:45
For I am ADONAI, who brought you
up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. Therefore you are to be holy,
because I am holy.
Leviticus
22:32-33 You are not to
profane my holy name; on the contrary, I am to be regarded as holy among the
people of Isra’el; I am ADONAI, who makes you holy, who brought you out of the
land of Egypt to be your God; I am ADONAI."
Deuteronomy
5:6-7 "‘I
am ADONAI your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where you lived as
slaves. "‘You are to have no other gods before me.
Malachi 3:6
"But because I, ADONAI, do not change...”
Hebrews 13:8
Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever.
The God
of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant.
He does not change! His
“complete” Word stands forever. We
are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God!
We must serve the God who called us from
Mt. Sinai!
#2
- You are to have no other
Who
is the True God?
Exodus 20:3-6 "You
are to have no other gods before me. You are not to make for yourselves a carved
image or any kind of representation of anything in heaven above, on the earth
beneath or in the water below the shoreline. You are not to bow down to them or
serve them; for I, ADONAI your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for
the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
but displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love me and obey
my mitzvot (instructions).”
Is this the One True God
that you love, obey and cling to? Remember,
He never changes!
What
has become an idol in our hearts?
We tend to think of idols
as wood and stone carvings from Bible times.
However, idols in modern times have surfaced as pagan holidays, that
believers will not relinquish because they have changed the meaning and
refuse to obey God’s instructions.
Or,
we have accepted unscriptural teachings such as evolution.
Today, evolution is being taught in most all areas of education, the
media, as well as in the church and
synagogue. Because we have
become a Torah-less (commandment-less) society, we have turned from truth and
now accept the traditions of men and lies spread by many,
instead of the truth of the Word of God.
Romans 1:23
In fact, they have exchanged the glory of the immortal God for mere
images, like a mortal human being, or like birds, animals or reptiles!
Jer. 2:27-28 ...who say to a log, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You gave us birth.’ For they have turned their backs to me instead of their faces. But when trouble comes, they will plead, ‘Rouse yourself and save us!’ Where are your gods that you made for yourselves? Let them rouse themselves, if they can save you when trouble comes. Y’hudah, you have as many gods as you have cities! [America?]
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God!

#3
- You are not to use lightly the Name of ADONAI your God...
What
is the Name of God?
Exodus 20:7
You are not to use lightly the name of ADONAI your God, because ADONAI will
not leave unpunished someone who uses his name lightly.
ADONAI, which is the word
LORD in the King James Bible, also represents the tetragrammaton for the true
Name of God. Reading from right to
left, it is written as follows in Hebrew.
![]()
The Name is generally not
pronounced because it was thought by the sages to be too holy and could possibly
be misused. Because of this, the actual pronunciation has been lost. However,
the titles, which are used in place of the true Name, should also be used with
reverence as these do represent our God.
Do
we truly revere the Name of ADONAI, our God?
Hebrew scribes realizing the beauty, power and holiness of the Name, stopped each time they came to a section of Scripture using the Name of ADONAI, in the Hebrew text. Before they would write the Name, they would wash their hands, pray, write the Name, then stop and pray again. This ritual went on each time they came to the Name. Do we stand in awe of God’s Name as these scribes did? Or, do we profane His Name by using it unwisely as if it were a common word?
Psalms 118:26 Blessed is he who comes in the Name of ADONAI. We bless you from the house of ADONAI.
Psalms 148:13
Let them praise the Name of ADONAI, for his Name alone is exalted; his
glory is above both earth and heaven.
Proverbs 30:9 ...for if I have too much, I might deny you and say, "Who is ADONAI?" And if I am poor, I might steal and thus profane the Name of my God.
Daniel 2:20
Blessed be the Name of God from eternity past to eternity future! For
wisdom and power are his alone...
The God
of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant.
He does not change!
His “complete” Word stands forever.
We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God!
He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

#4
- Remember the Sabbath Day to Keep It Holy
How
to Enter God’s Rest
Who is
to enter God’s rest?
All who are called-out and redeemed, both Jew and Gentile.
What
are we called to?
A day of rest; a day of ceasing of our labor.
Where
are we called to?
Our homes or a holy convocation.
When
are we called?
The 7th day of the week, beginning at sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.
Why are
we called?
To acknowledge God’s
sovereignty
and our salvation in Messiah Yeshua.
How are
we called?
To cease from our labors; to focus on God; and to delight in His Sabbath.
Exodus 20:8-11"Remember
the day, Shabbat, to set it apart for God. You have six days to labor and
do all your work, but the seventh day is a Shabbat for ADONAI your God. On it,
you are not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not
your male or female slave, not your livestock, and not the foreigner staying
with you inside the gates to your property.
For in six days, ADONAI made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in
them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why ADONAI blessed the day,
Shabbat, and separated it for himself.”
Exodus 31:13-15
"Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats; for
this is a sign between me and you through all your generations; so that
you will know that I am ADONAI, who sets you apart for me. Therefore you are to keep my Shabbat, because it is
set apart for you...On
six days work will get done; but the seventh day is Shabbat, for complete rest,
set apart for ADONAI...”
Isaiah 66:22-23
"For just as the new heavens
and the new earth that I am making will continue in my presence," says
ADONAI, "so will your descendants and your name continue. "Every month
on Rosh-Hodesh and every week on Shabbat, everyone living will come to worship
in my presence," says ADONAI.” [Better get some practice!]
Did you know there are also helpful instructions for the Sabbath?

The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

#5 - Honor your father and mother...
ADONAI’s
Instruction With a Promise!
Exodus 20:12 Honor
your father and mother, so that you may live long in the Land which ADONAI your
God is giving you.
ADONAI,
the Lord God, has given us many promises; some are called covenants and included
a blood sacrifice. These covenants
began with Adam and go down through time, each one becoming more detailed, each
one combining with the ones before it. God’s
covenants have not been abolished. This
promise has not been removed either. Adonai
brings a direct correlation between honoring parents with honoring Him.
This is because parents represent the Lord on earth as His authority
figures to train up another generation of godly children.
Amein!
Why
is honoring our father and mother
Instructions to honor our father and mother have been included by the
sages in the first five commandments that are related to Adonai, whereas the
last five concern how we relate to other people. When we honor our father and
mother, it is said that we are also honoring God. Therefore, when addressing our
parents, it would be good to remember to honor, respect and reverence them in
the large and small things of life. Remember,
there is a promise of life! L’chaim!
Exodus 20:12 Honor
your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land which ADONAI your
God is giving you.
Leviticus 19:3 Every
one of you is to fear his father and mother, and you are to keep my Shabbats; I
am ADONAI your God.
Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, what you should do in union with the Lord is obey your parents, for this is right. Honor your father and mother - this is the first commandment that embodies a promise so that it may go well with you, and you may live long in the Land.
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

#6 - Do not murder.
The
First Murder
Genesis 4:8 Kayin (Cain) had words with Hevel (Abel) his brother; then one time, when they were in the field, Kayin turned on Hevel his brother and killed him.
The story of Cain and Abel will go down through history as a tragedy among brethren. What caused Cain to lash out against his brother? It was bitterness, jealousy and pride that controlled Cain’s heart. Instead of repenting of his sin, in a fit of rage, he took his brother’s life. Did he ever truly repent of this act of murder? The Scripture records that he never did and in fact, he stated “My punishment is greater than I can bear.” No sorrow. No remorse.
1 John 3:12
“... and not be like Kayin, who was from the Evil One and murdered his
own brother. Why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil, and his
brother's were righteous.”
What is LASHON HARAH?
Lashon harah, the evil tongue, is thought by the sages to have been the
reason for leprosy in Bible times. Slandering or malicious gossip about a
person, lashon harah, was punishable by disease. It is taught that our
mouths/tongues are hard to control. In most cases, when lashon harah is used on
a person, it is as if the person’s character had been “murdered.”
Thus we get the term “character assassination.”
Notice
below that Scripture lists murder with wicked thoughts, lies and slander, to
name a few. Do we have control of our tongues?
A leper, e.g. the murderer with the uncontrolled tongue, lives a cast
out, lonely, separated and hopeless life.
Imagine how overjoyed the leper in the book of Luke was when Yeshua healed him! It is that same joyfulness that a new Believer, who was once without hope and separated from God, experiences in Messiah. Let us repent. Yeshua is the Promised One who heals. He will heal the murderer and the murdered, who were involved in lashon harah.
Matthew 15:18-20 But
what comes out of your mouth is actually coming from your heart, and that is
what makes a person unclean. For out of the heart come forth wicked thoughts,
murder, adultery and other kinds of sexual immorality, theft, lies, slanders.
These are what really make a person unclean...
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

#7
- Do not commit adultery.
David
and Bathsheva
Matthew 5:28 And I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
James 1:14-16 Rather, each person is being tempted whenever he is being dragged off and enticed by the bait of his own desire. Then, having conceived, the desire gives birth to sin; and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death. Don't delude yourselves, my dear brothers -
Where
did David’s sin begin? It began in
his heart, with lustful eyes, lustful thoughts, and the lust of the flesh.
David’s sin gave birth to death. His
sin resulted in murder, death of a child, and a life filled with much misery.
Yes, he got what he wanted--but at what price?
Job 31:1
"I made a covenant with my eyes not to let them lust after any
girl.
An Affair of the Heart
In today’s world, we have managed to change the meanings of Biblical
words to make them seem less harsh, more acceptable. Have we softened Adonai’s
words for sin? An affair is still adultery.
Adultery=voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner
other than the lawful spouse.
Because
we have not learned to control our appetites, even from our youth, we now face a
world full of disease, divorce, and heartbroken families, whose children are
doomed to repeat this pattern.
Adultery and coveting seem to run hand-in-hand. We are being programmed by the media through our own hearts to believe that desiring something owned by another is good. However, Adonai has taught us otherwise. The final outcome of sin is death. We are taught that Yeshua paid the price for our sin with His blood. We should repent and turn to Him for forgiveness. He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man can come unto the Father, except through Him. (John 14:6)
Matthew 15:19-20 For
out of the heart come forth wicked thoughts, murder, adultery and other kinds of
sexual immorality, theft, lies, slanders... These are what really make a person
unclean...
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

#8 - Do not steal.
Akhan’s
Crime
Joshua 7:20-21 Akhan
answered Y’hoshua, "It is true: I have sinned against ADONAI, the God of
Isra’el. Here is exactly what I did: when I saw there with the spoil a
beautiful robe from Shin’ar, five pounds of silver shekels and a
one-and-a-quarter-pound wedge of gold, I really wanted them. So I took them. You
will find them hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver
underneath."
The
story of Akhan and his coveting of the goods from Ai are written for our
edification in the book of Joshua. Did
Akhan really think he could disobey Adonai, steal and get away with it?
Apparently he forgot that the Lord’s eyes see everything. He is all-knowing,
always present, and never changes. We cannot steal and think no one was
watching.
But He is always showing
Himself strong toward those with a perfect heart.
2 Chronicles 16:9
What
Shall We Steal Today?
We have become a people who
have much; yet, that does not seem to satisfy our longing for more. Agur, one of
the writers of Proverbs said, “...for if I have too much, I might deny you and
say, "Who is ADONAI?" And if I am poor, I might steal and thus profane
the name of my God. Proverbs 30:9
Yet today it seems people steal for the “fun of it.”
Children, adults and even the elderly are becoming thieves. And then
there are those who are assaulted. Because of our court system, most of these
victims never receive restitution.
Employees are stealing from work: office supplies, time, use of machines without permission, etc. Some are stealing from the InterNet. Some are stealing from stores, homes, their families. But the worst are those who steal from Adonai. They steal the glory of His Name, His time, His honor, His reputation, His Word, especially when they alter it to serve their own needs, etc.
Ephesians 4:28 The
thief must stop stealing; instead, he should make an honest living by his own
efforts. This way he will be able to share with those in need.
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!
“He
just stole my ring!”
#9
- Do not give false evidence
Yeshua’s False Accusers
Matthew 26:59 The
head cohanim (priests) and the whole Sanhedrin looked for some false evidence
against Yeshua, so that they might put him to death.
Mark 14:56 For many people gave false evidence against him, but their testimonies didn't agree.
Can you imagine what it would be like to realize you were a false witness against Yeshua the Messiah? These false accusers were concerned for their loss of power, money and prestige among the people. They had gained much and were not willing to give it up, even for the Messiah.
John 11:47-48
Then
the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What do
we do, for this man does many miracles? If we let him alone, all men will
believe in Him: and the Romans will come and take away both our place and
nation.
Mark 15:10
For it was evident to him that it was out of jealousy that the head cohanim
had handed him over.
Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!
Gramma Wood used to teach children that a white lie, a fib or even
twisting the truth was still a lie. She
also taught them that lying about another person was called bearing false
witness. This also
comes under the heading of slander or lashon harah or the evil tongue.
HaSatan, being the father of lies, loves to get Adonai’s people to lie to and about each other. The saddest of all are the false teachers and prophets, who teach for profit, against Adonai’s Word, being the worst of false witnesses. Many do not teach the truth of the Word as they do not wish to lose their livelihood, their congregations or their power. What does Adonai think about this?
Proverbs 6:16,19 There
six things ADONAI hates, seven which he detests: ...a false
witness who lies with every breath, and him who sows strife among brothers.
1 Timothy 4:1-2 The
Spirit expressly states that in the acharit-hayamim [end of times] some people
will apostatize from the faith by paying attention to deceiving spirits and
things taught by demons.Such teachings come from the hypocrisy of liars whose
own consciences have been burned, as if with a red-hot branding iron.
The God of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant. He does not change! His “complete” Word stands forever. We are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God! He is the ONLY God! The God of Israel!

Adoniyah
Covets the Crown
1 Kings 1:5 Adoniyah the son of Haggit was beginning to claim that he would be king; to this end he organized chariots and horsemen, with fifty men to run ahead of him.
It
seems Adoniyah, one of David’s sons, decided that he wanted the crown and his
intent was to obtain it before his brother Shlomo (Solomon) could be anointed
king by his father and Natan (Nathan). In
order to do this, he began gathering chariots, horsemen.
He prepared a great feast inviting his brothers, the king’s sons,
commanders of the army, the cohen (priest) and
David’s servants. However, he did
not invite Shlomo, Bethsheva or Natan. However, with a masterful plan between
Bethsheva and Natan to save the crown, Shlomo became king.
Fear gripped Adoniyah’s heart. Taking
hold of the altar, Adoniyah finally meet his doom.
I
Want It All!!!
Every day people are building larger houses, buying more expensive cars,
dressing in high-priced clothing, etc. Children in schools, who see each others
shoes, clothing, hairstyles, all feel they need to have what the other one has.
Credit card debt is extreme and bankrupcy filings are in the thousands
each day. Shopping malls abound and new companies open their doors daily. Are we
never content with what Adonai (the Lord) gives us?
Shaul (Paul) showed us several times in Scripture the need to be content with what we have. We are also admonished to seek those things which are above. These are the true treasures which will bring joy, peace and true contentment. Seek these things!
Colossians 3:1,2
So if you were raised along with the Messiah, then seek the things
above, where the Messiah is sitting at the right hand of God. Focus your minds
on the things above, not on things here on earth.
1 Timothy 6:6
Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are
content with what they have.
Revelation 3:17 For you keep saying, ‘I am rich, I have gotten rich, I don't need a thing!’ You don't know that you are the one who is wretched, pitiable, poor, blind and naked!
The God
of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant.
He does not change!
His “complete”
Word stands forever. We
are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God!
He is the ONLY God!
The God of Israel!
On a final note:
Who is this?

Bet
you thought it was Jesus!
Jesus
is not a blond-haired, blue-eyed Greco-Roman,
a
Catholic or a Protestant
Jesus
was and is Jewish, from
the tribe of Judah, from the line of King David.
Jesus’
real Hebrew name is Yeshua,
meaning Savior or Salvation.
Jesus
kept all the
Commandments (Instructions) of God, including the 7th day Sabbath. (Ex. 20)
Jesus
kept all the commanded
Holy Days and Feasts.
Jesus
followed the
commandments to eat clean foods - thus He ate Biblically kosher foods.
(Lev. 11 & Deut. 14)
Jesus
did not wear the golden
glow or halo image found in many paintings.
This is a part of sun god worship. (Research Tammuz, Easter, Christmas
online or in encyclopedias)
Jesus
would not have had his
picture drawn; this would have broken the 2nd commandment.
Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is God in the flesh.
In
the Name of Jesus
John 1:1-3,14 In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He
was with God in the beginning. All things came to be through Him, and without
Him nothing made had being. The Word became a human being and lived with us, and
we saw His Sh’khinah [glory], The Sh’khinah of the Father's only Son, full
of grace and truth.
The name Jesus, which is a transliteration of the Hebrew word Yeshua into Greek, actually has no translatable meaning. His Hebrew Name, Yeshua, means Savior or Salvation. Yeshua’s titles of authority include Adonai (LORD), the Word, HaShem (the Name), Elohim (God), El Shaddai (the Almighty God), Adonai Tz’vaot (Lord of Hosts), Cohen haGadol (High Priest), Lamb of God, Adonai Roi (Lord our Shepherd), El Nose’ (God Who forgives), & more.

What
did Jesus/Yeshua do?
He
obeyed the Torah of
Moses (1st five books of the Bible).
He kept
the 7th day Sabbath and will do so when He returns.
He
celebrated the Holy
Days & Feasts.
He did
NOT celebrate
Easter, Christmas, Valentines Day, Halloween, etc.
He was
obedient in all
things, even to death for our sin.
All of
His disciples were
Jewish. There were only a few
Gentile Believers until 15 years after the death, burial and resurrection of
Messiah Yeshua.
What
did they do...?
They
DID what Yeshua/Jesus DID!
Should
we do less?
The God
of the Old Covenant is the same God of the New Covenant.
He does not change!
His “complete”
Word stands forever. We
are to love, obey and cling to Adonai, our God!
He is the ONLY God!
The God of Israel!
Yeshua!

you are truly seeking the truth, you will find it!
